Best mpc to start off making boom bap hip hop
I've been skimming every forum but seems some are outdated or not really answering my question.
Some background information first. I'm working with FL studio for a year now. Used to start of as a hobby, but I saw that with work and endurance you can really amazingly surprise yourself. But now I'm looking to go a little bit more professional, not to make money or anything. But because I f***ing LOVE making boom bap beats.
In my first days I noticed something was off, and now after a year and after installing dozens of plugins. I still can't seem to get the same feel like the tracks in for example Madlib's album 'shadez of blue', or MF Doom's 'operation doomsday'. Or any nineties underground east coast hip hop producer.
I started looking around for an SP1200 but these are just TOO EXPENSIVE! So I'm wondering which mpc to buy. The MPC 60 II with its 12 bit output will give the drums a crisp feel, but the MPC 2000XL is a more complete instrument, from what I've read and heard.
