- Got mine for a few days ago and got to say that it definitely worth it...
Working fine with a Geforce 1080Ti, even with Windows installed on a SSD inside the enclosure.
An other important thing, I accidentally broke something on the motherboard and I've to say that the support was really great. Answer within an hour and back and return so quick, it seams like Amazon, I had to say.
Tomorrow I'll try my HTC Vive on it (under windows), should be great. - Just stick a mother board in that thing and we have an new Mac Pro. That simple.
- A 20% hit in performance when using Thunderbolt 2 isn't that bad.

I seem to vaguely remember Neil saying something about these kits not supporting the full display resolution of the Mac, or some such. Am I getting mixed up with something else?
P.S. It would help if the stories had the name of the author when viewing from the forum as well. I think some of us directly go to the forum rather than reading from the main site.

Seems fine here. They really demand an external video, but the loop-back hacks you can use for pseudo-clamshell mode do fine on the internal display, as well as the 4K Acer I used for testing.I seem to vaguely remember Neil saying something about these kits not supporting the full display resolution of the Mac, or some such. Neil's work was a long time ago, relatively speaking. The eGPU scene has done a lot with the software since then.I've asked about relaying the author's name into the forums in the past. I'll ask again. - I think they gave readers of eGPU a discount purchase. Think you can swing a similar deal?
Dunno, I'll find out. Standby.I think they gave readers of eGPU a discount purchase. Think you can swing a similar deal?- If only OWC would add eGPU-support and 85 watts to their announced Thunderbolt 3 dock...
85W on it would be good, yeah. Is it the FW800 you need? Five USB 3.0 and the gigabit ethernet on the Mantiz is pretty nice.If only OWC would add eGPU-support and 85 watts to their announced Thunderbolt 3 dock...- Mike I would like to say, given my critique of another review on AI, that the quality of the eGPU reviews here have been quite high with in depth information relevant to Apple users.

A certain contributor had me considering giving up on AI. Then you came along and made AI a much more enjoyable experience.

Stay enthusiastic, and don't let the grumps discourage you.
Get a proofreader, though. Sometimes the typos are really confusing.
Also appreciate it!

Re: proofreader. We've got one, but we're all up to our eyeballs in work and other examinations for this place. Spot something, let me know, and I'll take a look!- Just another note of thanks for keeping us up to date on this stuff, Mike!
It is w/o any issue to run the full res on internal display.I seem to vaguely remember Neil saying something about these kits not supporting the full display resolution of the Mac, or some such. Am I getting mixed up with something else?

Oooohhh....a mantiz person here. Can we get a group purchase too? .

Actually, I don't know that we could get 50 buyers. At least not until High Sierra ships with eGPU support.
Yeah, it works fine. TB3's bandwidth is the limitation, not the enclosure or eGPU tech.
